Radiator Isolator valve
The purpose of this valve is to enable one to have heated radiators in the
bathroom in warm weather when the rest of the house radiators will normally be
off.

The valve is close to the floor near the wall at the front of the cylinder.

The valve is motorised and has been set so that when it is ‘off’ ie not powered,
it restricts the hot water so that it only goes to the bathroom radiators.

When it is ‘on’ ie powered, it allows hot water to flow to the room radiators.
If the valve goes wrong, it will probably jam closed which means that only the
bathroom radiators will be on.

The valve has a manual override so that when off, it can be ‘locked’ open
manually. To use this ‘lock’ the valve has to be off. There is a lever and this
has to be moved slowly, against the gear, and locked into the hook or ratchet.
It will then be held open.
